"This is an international competition which aims to promote the further development of ceramic industry and culture through international exchanges of ceramic designs and culture. Outstanding works that suggest innovative ideas and explore the future of ceramics coming from all over Japan and the world will be displayed all together. It is a triennale held at ‘Mino’, the major production area of ceramics in Japan. This is one of the world biggest ceramic festivals that features various events that contribute to further development of ceramic industry and culture, such as world-class ceramic competition, "International Ceramics Competition, Mino Japan" and many more. The 2017 Judges are: Hidetoshi Nakata, General Producer of Intemational Ceramics Festival’17 Mino Japan; Yoshitomo Nara, Artist; Sousuke Fujimoto, Architect; Shuji Takahashi, Director of Museum of Modern Ceramic Art, Gifu; John Carpenter, Curator of Japanese Art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Olivier Gabet, Director of the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris; Claudia Casali, Art Historian / Director of the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza.
Award/Opening Ceremony: Friday, September 15, 10 ~ 11am.
