Zhejiang Art Museum

Zhejiang Museum of Art is located on Nanshan Road, adjacent to West Lake. Zhejiang Museum is a landmark building project included in the province, a total investment of 420 million yuan, from the Cultural Department of Zhejiang Province. The museum started to be built in May 2005 and officially opened in August 2009. Zhejiang Museum emphasis on "contemporary" art, but also take into account the historical, based in Zhejiang. It opens for academic purposes, focusing on art collections and exhibitions reflect the course of development of Zhejiang Province.

Yaozhou Kiln Museum

Yaozhou Kiln Museum

Situated in Huangpu, Tongchuan City, the Yaozhou Kiln Museum is China’s largest ancient kiln theme museum and has both artifact displays and ancient porcelain making simulations. The museum holds over 300,000 artifacts and specimens, most of which were from the ancient Yaozhou Kiln. The kiln was first set up in the Tang Dynasty and became one of the Big Six Kilns in the Song Dynasty. It was known as the “champion of the northern celadon with carved patterns.”

Xian Banpo Museum

Banpo was a matriarchal clan community of the Yangshao culture in the Neolithic age. It is divided into three sections: the residential, the pottery-making and the Burial Section. Some of the important remains are a large moat, a small ditch, house relics, storage pits, pottery kilns, and a worship place. The main relics show us the development of the primitive civilization of the Yellow River Valley.

The Japan Folk Crafts Museum

The Japan Folk Crafts Museum

The Japan Folk Crafts Museum was established by a well-known craftsman and scholar Soetsu Yanagi(柳宗悅) in 1936. He was known as the William Morris of the East who found aesthetic in everyday ordinary and handmade utilitarian objects. His book "The unknown craftsman" is a good start to understanding Japanese Craft Philosophy. It is also worthy to visit this warm and cozy museum if you want to know more about Japanese crafts. It will take 1-2 hours for touring.

University Museum & Art Gallery, The University of Hong Kong

The University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) is conveniently located at the main entrance of The University of Hong Kong on Bonham Road. The museum is housed in the Fung Ping Shan Building and the lower three storeys of the T T Tsui Building. The Fung Ping Shan Building was donated to The University of Hong Kong by Mr Fung Pingshan in 1932 for a Chinese book library.

Sheung Yiu Folk Museum

Located inside the scenic Sai Kung Country Park and occupying an area of 500 square meters, the Sheung Yiu Folk Museum was originally a fortified village built in the late 19th century. The village and its neighboring limekiln were gazetted as monuments in 1981. After it was restored, the village was opened as a museum in 1984.

Shaanxi History Museum

The Shaanxi History Museum was set up and opened to the public in 1991. It was first modernized museum in China and the "Education Base of Patriotism." The museum has about than 375,000 objects /sets are collected in Shaanxi including the bronzes of the Shang & Zhou dynasties, the pottery figures of successive dynasties, the gold & silver wares of Tang dynasty and the mural paintings of the Tang dynasty with distinguishing features. The 18 pieces of the national treasures and the 1907 pieces of the first-grade relics are in visitors' good grace.
